Botanic
Garden

The New Botanic Garden in Barcelona was opened in April 1999. It stands in the Park at Montjuïc in a corner of the city offering peace and quiet and some of the most sought-after views in Barcelona, and where, on a clear day, you can see the city, the sea, the Baix Llobregat county, Collserola and the Garraf range.
The Barcelona Botanic Garden invites you to take a stroll around the world through artificial representations of natural plant communities or landscapes of the Mediterranean climate. The journey begins in the northern hemisphere, where the Mediterranean Basin is the area most widely represented, and the route is then followed to the Mediterranean climate of the coasts of California. You then go into the Southern Hemisphere, where you visit the Mediterranean climatic region of Chile, the south of South Africa and two separate regions of South Australia.
