Ayuntamiento de Valderrobres / Aragón / Valderrobres (Teruel)

Valderrobres (Teruel).

This building, built in 1599, also serves as the town hall of El Poble Espanyol. The façade faces west, as if it looked towards its little sister beside the Matarraña River. In Renaissance style, it is bigger than the original, as ours has five arches on its façade and is two arches deep and the original is three by one. The arches are rounded. In the 1960s, the three central windows were converted into a balcony. In our building, the four façades have been reproduced; in the original, only three are uncovered.


There is a very large hall in the main floor of this building which should be highlighted as it has a panelled ceiling reproduced from the Great Hall of the old Palau de la Generalitat in Valencia.
