This house, popularly known as the house of Lady Leonor de la Vega or of the Marquis of Santillana, is of uncertain origin, as the three identical coats of arms on the original façade bear the arms of the Polancos and of the De la Vegas, but they could be the arms of vassals of the first two.
In the inventory of the De la Vega's possessions this house does not appear as belonging to this family.
