Casa
del Sol

Cáceres
House of the Ovando-Solís; Gothic from the 15th century, altered in the 16th century. Tower at the corner, and above the main door, voussoired round arch; the speaking coat of arms of the Solis is at the top of this.
The doorway and coat of arms are protected by a Gothic panel. At the top of the building is a machicolation supported by three corbels with a cross-shaped loophole showing the military nature of the house during the medieval period. With the alteration of 1549, it took on a civil character.
