GALICIA
Galicia is in the north-west of the Iberian peninsula, between the Cantabrian Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
With the rest of the Cantabrian coast, it is the greenest part of the peninsula.
Its many kilometres of coast, with deep rias and rugged headlands, have made the Galicians very much a sea-going people. Together with agriculture and stock rearing, fishing is the most important base of its economy.
