Vila Nova de Lourençã

Vila Nova de Lourençã (Lugo)
Benedictine convent, the work of the same architect who created the great front of Compostela Cathedral.
The most important part of this monastery is the tomb of the Conde Santo (the Holy Count), whose sarcophagus was bought by the Count in the Holy Land. Tradition says this sarcophagus was thrown in the sea at Jaffa and the sea currents brought it to the port of Morás, from where it was transported to Vila Nova de Lourençã.
