MURCIA

The diversity of the Murcian landscape is one of its main attractions: beaches, deserts and market gardens rub shoulders in this autonomous community.

Its coasts have almost 200 beaches between its two seas, the Mediterranean and the Menor, separated only by a tongue of land.

In antiquity, Murcia was populated by Iberian tribes, who established trading relations with Phoenicians and Greeks. Its history has always been marked by its naval and agricultural character. It was later the site of the first Carthaginian colony in Spain – New Carthage – and was an independent kingdom during the period of Arab domination.
