NAVARRA
The initial nucleus of the kingdom of Navarre, born in the 9th century, was the kingdom of Pamplona, the city which is its capital today, and its dominions came to be very extensive.
In Navarra, we can distinguish three large groups of counties which have been determinant to the configuration of their ways of life and their history: the mountains, with a damp, cold climate; the intermediate zone, where plains open up between the mountains; and the area along the banks of the Ebro, where there is a contrast between the large irrigated areas and the dry zones.
