WORKSHOPS

Cultural tourism looks for innovative options to offer clients. We propose a stay at the Village El Poble Espanyol where visitors can take part in a workshop, choosing between various disciplines. We adjust to the amount of time visitors spend at the Village complex and design "made-to-measure" stays which will be engraved on their memory.


FLAMENCO DANCING

Dance classes for groups with live music. Under the guidance of professionals and accompanied by a guitar player, you can learn the basic steps to begin flamenco dancing.

Organisation: 20 people or more



CASTELLERS. Building a common project

Castells are spectacular human towers. One on top of the other, people build an authentic monument to Catalan popular culture in a deeply-rooted tradition which is seductive due to the emotion and challenge it entails.


The activity comprises building and taking down a castell. Participants learn the function of each of the people within a human construction and also how to coordinate so that the common objective can be reached.

Age: over 18 years old
Duration: 60-90 minutes approximately
Languages: Catalan, Spanish, English
Organisation: Groups of 50 to 110 people

Observations: This activity should preferably be done outside.


GETTING CLOSER TO CRAFTSMANSHIP

El Poble Espanyol, producer of arts and crafts, declared an Area of Interest for Crafts by the Generalitat of Catalonia, offers you the chance to make a piece of craftwork following traditional techniques.

Age: over 18 years old
Duration: approximately 1 hour
Languages: Catalan, Spanish and English. For other languages, please ask for an estimate.
Organisation: Groups of 10 to 30 people per instructor


· Miniature basket weaving workshop
Make a miniature basket following traditional technique, but using a previously manipulated material to facilitate the task.


· Bookbinding workshop with recycled material
Make a paper-back booklet with blank pages and a bookmark. The material is cut and prepared beforehand, leaving participants to carry out the final assembly of the parts.


· Glass decorating workshop
Learn to paint a glass object thanks to special paints that make it more beautiful. Through this technique an everyday object becomes something decorative.

· Ceramic painting workshop
Working with specific paints for this material, in order to decorate a piece of ceramic which can be a good souvenir of our visit to the Village.

· Silk-screening workshop
Guided by a master craftsman, each participant can create their own piece of painted silk, following the presentation of the different materials to be used, their characteristics and correct usage. Similarly, a brief demonstration of the free-hand and other techniques will be given to allow experimentation with the silk.

Age: over 16 years old
Duration: 60 to 90 minutes, approximately
Languages: Catalan and Spanish. For other languages ask for an estimate.
Organisation: groups of 8 to 12 people




All the options can be adapted and modified by consultation. They may be subject to variation in the budget.
