Barcelona Puppet Festival
The 2020 Barcelona Puppet Festival is almost upon us. March the 21st is International Puppet Day and to celebrate it, on March the 21st and 22nd the Poble Espanyol will become home to this genre which can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
The Puppet Festival is well-established as a cultural activity for families in Barcelona with two main objectives: to revive puppetry in all its variants and to provide the audience with culture, fun and exciting stories. This year, in its 11th edition, 14 national and international companies will participate, with more than 70 performances and 4 exclusive premieres.
The performances will be held in 10 different spaces or stages, both indoor and outdoor, throughout the premises.
Czech marionettes, glove, table, thread and rod puppets, muppets, objects, Chinese shadows ... and all the various forms of this art, with exciting stories and characters that the whole family will enjoy.
In addition, the Hivernacle in the Main Square will include an area for foodtrucks, toy and puppet band stands and games for children. For children from 0 to 3 years old, there will be a play area with various games suitable for their age. Activities that babies as well as fathers, mothers, grandparents, grandmothers, etc. can enjoy.
