At Poble Espanyol, we are lucky enough to have about twenty artisans who work every day using their hands and some tools to create unique pieces. It is a wonder to watch them work live. Can you imagine becoming one of them for a while?
In this workshop, you will become real artisans and create a pendant, using an uncanny technique which the Celts, Mycenaeans and Byzantines were already using in the third millennium to add colour and light to their jewellery: hot enamel.
First of all, you will discover enamel and its uses, as well as the tools and materials used. Then, you will follow the monitor's instructions to decorate an enamel metal piece by applying a vitreous paste ground into powder, so that it reflects your personality. Once the work is finished, you will cook the pieces in the oven for a few minutes, bearing witness to the magical change that will take place. And... voilà! You are now ready to show off your pendant!
Don't miss this activity for children in Barcelona where children and adults come to enjoy.
